2.5Inch Riser Pipe White OD 1.05″ (26.7 mm)

The riser pipe is installed vertically in the center of the FRP pressure vessel, running from the bottom to the top opening, to facilitate proper water flow and distribution within the filter media.
Step-by-Step Placement
Here is the general procedure for placing a Runxin riser pipe in a filter or softener vessel:
  1. Attach the bottom strainer: A bottom distributor (strainer/basket) is first attached securely to one end of the riser pipe, often using a suitable glue or by threading it into place. This prevents the filter media (like resin or sand) from entering the pipe.
  2. Insert into the tank: The pipe assembly (riser pipe with bottom strainer) is carefully placed into the empty mineral or resin tank. It must be positioned in the exact center of the tank.
  3. Measure and cut the pipe: The pipe needs to be cut to the correct length. The general rule is that the top of the riser pipe should be neither higher than 1mm nor lower than 5mm than the height of the tank’s top opening. The top end should also be rounded to avoid damaging the O-ring inside the control valve.
  4. Plug the opening: Before adding the filter media, the top opening of the riser pipe should be covered (e.g., with a cap or tape) to prevent any media from falling inside the pipe during the filling process.
  5. Fill the media: The filter media (resin, sand, carbon, etc.) is carefully added around the central pipe until it reaches the appropriate height according to the system’s design specifications.
  6. Install the top distributor and valve: Once the media is in place, the cover is removed. A top distributor is often installed into the bottom of the Runxin control valve head. The control valve is then inserted over the riser pipe and screwed securely onto the threads of the FRP tank opening.
Key Function
The riser pipe with its top and bottom distributors is critical for:
  • Even distribution: Ensuring water flows evenly through the entire media bed during service and backwash cycles.
  • Media containment: Keeping the filter media within the main tank while allowing water to pass through.
  • Connecting the valve: Providing the internal pathway to connect the bottom of the tank to the control valve head where all the flow management occur

Description

Runxin riser pipes come in various specifications to match different control valves and tank sizes. Common characteristics include:
  • Material: Typically made from rigid PVC or similar durable plastic.
  • Diameter: Common external diameters are 25mm (approx. 1 inch), 27mm, and 1.5 inches (approx. 38mm), depending on the specific valve model and flow rate requirements.
  • Length: Available in standard lengths (e.g., 1.4m, 1.6m, 3m) or can be customized to fit the height of the FRP pressure vessel.
  • Function: The pipe has a distributor at the bottom to ensure even water distribution through the filter media bed, and it connects to the top-mounted control valve.
Compatibility
The specific riser pipe needed depends on the Runxin valve model and the size of the accompanying pressure tank.
  • Valves with a 2.5-inch base often use a 25mm or 27mm diameter riser pipe.
  • Larger valves, such as the 4-inch F75A1, require a 1.5-inch OD (outer diameter) riser pipe for higher flow rates
