The “Stuck Housing” Recovery Guide
If your 20″ Big Blue housing is impossible to move, follow these professional steps:

Release Pressure First: Turn off the main water supply and press the red pressure relief button on top of the housing. If you don’t release the pressure, the housing will stay locked tight.

Use Two Hands: Place the wrench as high up on the sump as possible (closer to the threads) to prevent the plastic from twisting.

The “Lube” Secret: When you put it back together, use Food-Grade Silicone Grease on the O-ring. This ensures that next year, the housing will unscrew with one hand.
