Reverse Osmosis System Tank 6.4G Steel (24 Liter) ¼

  • Total Operating Weight (Tank + Water)

Tank Model Dry Weight (Empty) Approx. Water Weight Total Weight (Full)
    12 Litre ~4.0 kg + 8.0 kg ~12.0 kg
    24 Litre ~6.5 kg + 16.0 kg ~22.5 kg
    40 Litre ~9.8 kg + 28.0 kg ~37.8 kg
    74 Litre ~14.5 kg + 50.0 kg ~64.5 kg

    ⚠️ Installation Safety Warnings:

    • For the 12L & 24L Models: Most kitchen cupboards can handle these weights (12–23 kg) on the base floor. However, do not place a full 24L tank on a middle shelf without reinforcing it, as the shelf may bow or collapse over time.

    • For the 40L & 74L Models: These are very heavy (up to 65 kg). They should always be placed on a solid concrete floor or a reinforced steel stand.

    • Pressure Matters: If the customer’s RO system has a high-pressure pump, the tank might hold slightly more water than listed, making it even heavier. Always calculate for a “worst-case” maximum weight.

Empty Tank Air Pre-Charge Requirements

Tank Size Recommended Air Pressure (Empty) Maximum Working Pressure
12 Litre 0.45 bar (approx. 7 PSI) 6.9 bar (100 PSI)
24 Litre 0.45 bar (approx. 7 PSI) 6.9 bar (100 PSI)
40 Litre 0.50 bar (approx. 8 PSI) 6.9 bar (100 PSI)
74 Litre 0.55 bar (approx. 8 PSI) 6.9 bar (100 PSI)

🛠️ How to Check and Pump Your Tank:

  1. Isolate & Empty: Turn off the water supply to the RO system and open the RO faucet until the water stops flowing completely. This ensures there is no back-pressure from the water.

  2. Locate the Valve: On the side or bottom of the stainless steel tank, there is a small plastic cap. Unscrew it to reveal a standard Schrader Valve (exactly like a car or bicycle tire valve).

  3. Check Pressure: Use a low-pressure digital gauge. If it reads $0$, the bladder has lost its charge.

  4. Pump Slowly: Use a manual bicycle pump or a small compressor.

    • Warning: Only add a few pumps at a time. Because the air chamber is small, the pressure rises very quickly.

  5. Target: Aim for 0.45 bar. If you go over, simply bleed a little air out using the center pin of the valve.
