Description
The Mineral Stone Filter Cartridge is a post-treatment filter used in reverse osmosis (RO) systems to re-mineralize and stabilize purified water by slowly dissolving mineral media back into the water stream.
Key Functions
-
Re-mineralization: Replaces beneficial minerals lost during RO.
-
pH Stabilization: Adds calcium and magnesium oxides, making water slightly alkaline.
-
Taste Improvement: Minerals give water a natural, fresh taste.
-
Biological Benefit: Minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium are essential for health and can be absorbed effectively from water.
Mineral Composition (Approximate Ranges)
-
SiO₂ (Silicon Dioxide): 60–65% – strengthens bones and connective tissue.
-
Al₂O₃ (Aluminum Oxide): 12–17.5% – naturally present, inert form.
-
Fe₂O₃ / FeO (Iron Oxides): 4–6% – trace iron content, contributes to red coloration.
-
CaO (Calcium Oxide): 3.8–6.1% – raises calcium content, aids bone health.
-
MgO (Magnesium Oxide): 3.2–4.3% – supports muscles and nerve function.
-
Na₂O (Sodium Oxide): 4.1–4.4% – provides trace sodium.
-
K₂O (Potassium Oxide): 0.2–1.3% – important for fluid balance.
-
MnO, TiO, P₂O₅: Trace minerals, contribute to metabolic functions.
Comparison with Inline Calcite Filter
| Feature | Mineral Stone Filter | Inline Calcite Filter |
|---|---|---|
| Mineral Content | Broad spectrum (Ca, Mg, K, Na, Si, Fe, etc.) | Mainly calcium carbonate |
| pH Adjustment | Raises pH moderately, often 7.5–8.5 | Raises pH gently, ~7.0–7.5 |
| Taste Effect | Richer mineral taste, natural spring-like | Cleaner, slightly “sweet” taste |
| Health Contribution | Adds multiple trace minerals | Primarily calcium benefit |
